Mt. Morris -Robert Pettit (Bob) Buzzard. was born in Ridgewood, New Jersey on March 27, 1952. He died February 13, 2010 at the age of 58. Bob lived in Mt. Morris, Illinois where he was employed as a manager at Woods Equipment Company. Bob is survived by his sons Jeremy Robert Buzzard and wife Katie; Jason Lee Buzzard, wife Meghan and twin daughters Hannah and Abbey; his sister Joan B. Thurston and Charles Barnard; sister Carol Ann B. Hutchinson and her husband Tom and many nieces and nephews. Bob was a loving father, grandfather and brother. He was an expert in his field of outdoor power equipment and tools. Beginning his career working with chainsaws; he worked with his late father Herbert S. Buzzard for Stihl, Inc. He eventually owned a distributorship for Stihl. Bob developed his love for motors at an early age. His favorite gift as a little boy was a steam engine that just sat on a table and made steam! He later graduated to go-carts, mini-bikes, then motorcycles, boats and finally cars - especially his favorite, Corvettes. He loved the mountains, the ocean and lighthouses, his vacations as a child in Cape Cod Massachusetts, and Virginia Beach where he lived happily at one point in his life. He was proud of his heritage as a member of his family, and he was dedicated to his two sons. His recent joy was in his two five year old granddaughters Hannah and Abbey, who he loved to visit when he was traveling in the South. All of his family will miss him dearly, especially his sense of humor and his presence in our lives. We love you Bob and know you're at peace in heaven with your beloved mother Helen and father Herb who went before you. A Memorial Gathering will be held Thur. Feb. 18th at the Lutheran Outdoor Ministries in Oregon from 5-7 pm in the Hospitality Center and also at Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church in Lexington, SC. Family visitation will be at 2:00pm and immediately following the service in Lexington, SC.
