Mt. Morris - Raymond "Ray" Warner Friemuth, age 92, died May 27, at the Ogle County Hospice Serenity Home. He was born June 16, 1917, on a farm near the Stillman Valley area; he was the son of John F. and Olive Pearl (Capes) Friemuth. He attended country schools and Mt. Morris High School. He married Evelyn Behrendt on September 10, 1946 in Dixon. Ray farmed in the Stillman Valley and Byron area for many years until 1959 when he purchased a farm north east of Mt. Morris. He also worked for 14 years at Lorado Taff. He was a member of the Disciples United Methodist Church in Mount Morris and of the Ogle County Farm Bureau. Ray was an avid fan of area High School sports teams, University of Illinois football and basketball and the Bears and Bulls. He enjoyed old cars and vintage tractors and had a small collection. He also spent many hours reading. He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn of Mt. Morris, daughters, Sharon (Terry) Pierce of Mt. Morris and Gail (Gary) Fruin of Byron; sons, John Friemuth of Mt. Morris and Bob (Laurie) Friemuth of Oregon; three grandsons, Nicholas (Rudy) Osborne, Heath (Anna) Blumeyer, and Jared Blumeyer (Angela); one granddaughter, Corenna Blumeyer (Ben); three great-grandchildren, Samantha Rae Osborne and Johnathan and Lucas Blumeyer; two sisters, Ida May Turner of Rockford and Thelma Miller of Morton; Sister in law Doris Friemuth; many nieces and nephews and special childhood friend Bob Vanhise. He is predeceased by his parents, brother, Lawrence, infant sister Catherine and many life long friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 5th at 11:00 AM at the Disciples United Methodist Church in Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 4th from 6-8 PM at the Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home in Oregon. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for Ogle County Hospice Serenity Home.
