Phillip G. "Phil" Roberts, 67, of Bellevue, died July 30, 2014 at his home.

Phillip was born on June 29, 1947 in Battle Creek to Gordon P. and Marilyn (DeForest) Roberts. He graduated from Pennfield High School in 1965. Phil served in the U.S. Air Force from 1965-1968, with a 15 month tour of service in South Korea. On June 19, 1971 he married the love of his life, Rebecca "Becky" L. Seelenbinder. Phil worked for Grand Trunk Rail Road for 31 years before retiring in 1999. After retirement, Phil worked at the M-66 Bowling Alley for several years. From 2006 to 2009, Phil was the primary daycare for his darling granddaughter, "ToodleBug". Phil was a member of the American Legion and the Bellevue Conservation Club. Phil was an avid and exceptional bowler. He bowled over 40 years, serving as the secretary of the M-66 house bowling league for over 20 of those years. He was inducted into the Marshall Bowling Hall of Fame in 2001. His other hobbies included golfing, fishing and hunting. Phil loved supporting his children and grandchildren in all their sporting events, dance, school functions, and especially Brent and Edrena's military accomplishments.

Phil is survived by his wife of 43 years, Becky of Bellevue; children, Amy (Joe) Butler of Homer and Brent (Edrena) Roberts of Killeen, TX; four grandchildren, Olivia, Alexander, Cameron, and Sophia; his beloved mother, Marilyn Salyer of Bellevue; his brother and best friend, Douglas (Sandy) Roberts of Marshall and step- brothers, Mike and Doug Cassens. He was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation will take place at the Craig Kempf Family Funeral Homes, Marshall Chapel 723 US 27 North, Marshall onMonday August 4, 2014 with family present to receive friends from 2-4pm. A memorial service celebrating Phil's life will follow, with Pastor Steve Olmstead officiating. A luncheon will follow the service. Interment of cremated remains will take place at2:30pm on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Fort Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Wounded Warrior Project in Phil's memory.
