Paul L. Deuth, 87, of Oregon, died Friday November 16, 2007 in Oregon Health Care Center. Born October 4, 1920 in Forreston, the son of Frederick and Ethel May Griswold Deuth. Married to Norma Jeanne Ulferts June 8, 1947 in Oregon. Paul was a World War 2 Army veteran and lived in Oregon since 1952, moving from Forreston. He was employed at J.H. McGuire in Oregon prior to 22 years in sales for E.D. Etnyre & Co., retiring in 1985. Paul was a member of Oregon VFW #8739, member and Past-Commander of Oregon American Legion, and member of Oregon United Methodist Church, where he served on the Administrative Board, as a trustee and an usher. He is survived by his wife, Norma Jeanne of Oregon; son, Gregory (Rita) Deuth of Rockford; daughter, Kristi (Dale Bugby) Cavanagh of Vale, Colo.; grandchildren: Jennifer Lynn (Charlie) Deuth Fritts of Roscoe and Paul Gregory (Mary Jennifer Schrider) Deuth of Chicago; brother, Gerald Deuth of Waterloo, Iowa; and sister, Jane (Ole) Hiteman of Mt. Morris. Predeceased by his parents, 3 brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Monday November 19 in Oregon United Methodist Church preceded by visitation beginning at 10:00am in the church. Rev. Mark Jacobs and Rev Yong Min Hong, pastors, will co-officiate. Burial in Riverview Cemetery, Oregon. Memorials may be made to Ogle County Hospice, Rock River Center or Oregon United Methodist Church.
