Oregon - Myrtle Irene Grove, age 85, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010 at her home following a sudden illness. She was born Feb. 25, 1925 in Sterling, IL the daughter to George and Lizzie (Rhode) Taylor. Myrtle graduated from Oregon High School, she had worked several places throughout her life including The Oregon Sewing factory, Beiers Paper Bag factory in Dixon, and Progressive Graphics in Oregon. She loved the Chicago Bulls, including being an avid Michael Jordan fan. She loved flowers, animals, garage sales, Jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, and collecting Koala Bears. She was predeceased by her parents and brother Robert "Touhy" Taylor. Survived by her 3 children; Dennis (Debbie) Grove of Oregon, Randy (Marcia) Grove of Peoria, and Diane (Greg) Grove Schultz of Andover, MN, 7 grandchildren; Beckie, Dan, Amanda, Josh, Sean, Chad, and Erik, and 8 Great Grandchildren. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010 at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 110 S. 7th Street, Oregon, IL with the Rev. Michael Hoffman pastor of the Oregon Church of God officiating. Burial will be in the Daysville Cemetery near Oregon. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service from 1 - 2 pm on Thursday. A memorial fund is established in her name.
