Oregon--Mary F. (Dirksen) Barnhart, 66, passed away June 27, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 19, 1947 in Oregon, IL the daughter of Ernest and Ethel (Holby) Dirksen. Graduated from Oregon High School in 1965, where she met her husband Reuben H. Barnhart III. They were married in March of 1966 at the Oregon United Methodist Church. Mary was a licensed day care provider for many years until they moved to Marion, Ohio in 1987. Where they lived for 2 years until moving to Braidwood, IL in 1989. They stayed in Braidwood, IL until they retired in 2005 and moved back home to Oregon, IL. Mary spent her time with her soul mate Reuben and her 3 children and 6 grandchildren. She never missed an opportunity to support her family whether at a sporting/school activity, a holiday or make someone chicken noodle soup when they were sick. Her family was her life and she will be missed more than we ever thought possible. She is preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Ethel Dirksen and her nephew Dean Dirksen. She is survived by her husband Reuben H. Barnhart III; her children Lisa (David) Boehle, Reuben "Andy" (Kendra) Barnhart, Diana (Chris) Weber. Grandchildren: Megan Boehle, Nik, Hunter, and Andrew Barnhart, Allison and Katelyn Weber all of Oregon; .her brother Don (Gail) Dirksen of Oregon, her mother and father-in-law Reuben Jr. and Delores Barnhart of Oregon, brother-in-laws Steve (Deb) Barnhart of Florida, Tim (Deb) Barnhart of Oregon, sister-in-law Beth (Steve) DuBois of Iowa Many special cousins, nieces, and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday July 2, 2103 at 11:00 AM in the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 110 S. 7th St., Oregon, with Pastor Gary Blobaum officiating. Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00-8:00 PM in the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Oregon. Memorials may be sent to Serenity Hospice & Home, Oregon.
