Mary Catherine "Kaye" Antonino, 81, of Marshall peacefully passed on to eternal life with her Lord Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at The Oaks at NorthPointe Woods.

Mrs. Antonino was born on October 18, 1931, in Ironwood, Michigan to William and Edna (Bonfield) Maccani. She graduated from Ironwood High School in 1949. Kaye earned her registered nursing degree from the Kahler School of Nursing at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota in 1952. She also studied at the University of Chicago and Cook County Hospital. After graduation she married Robert Frank "Bob" Antonino in Henderson, Kentucky on November 22, 1952 while he was serving in the Army. Mrs. Antonino began her nursing career in Labor and Delivery at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing. She took time off to raise her family, and in 1963 they relocated to Marshall for Bob's job with State Farm Insurance. Once all her children were in school, Kaye resumed nursing at Oaklawn Hospital, and then at Marshall Manor and Provincial House. In 1995 she retired, although continuing to care for and love so many others. Mrs. Antonino was a member of Saint Mary Catholic Church where she was active in Rosary Altar Society and Saint Ann Guild. She was an avid bowler, golfer, bridge player, and a devoted fan of Michigan State University. Bob ... Kaye continue to have season football tickets - nearly 50 years! In fact, the MSU Alumni Association recognizes Mrs. Antonino as a member, despite the fact that she never went to school there. Kaye also enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and crafting. Mr. and Mrs. Antonino loved traveling together throughout the United States and Europe, including cruises to Alaska, the Panama Canal, and New England to Northern Canada. Bob ... Kaye spent winters in Lake Havasu, Arizona after retirement. Kaye most cherished being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered for sharing love and kindness with everyone, including her "4 legged friends."

She is survived by her loving husband Robert of Marshall and her devoted children: Carol (Randy) DiBiaggio of Battle Creek; Mary (Herbert) Stith of Geneva, Illinois; Roberta (Timothy) Morton of Pittsford, New York; James (Patricia) Antonino of New York City, New York; and Catherine (Christopher) Osborn of Berrien Springs. She is also survived by 11 wonderful grandchildren; Elizabeth Stith, Emily Stith, Rebecca Stith, William Stith, Christopher Morton, Alicia Morton, Steven Morton, Courtney Morton, Gregory Osborn, Alexandra Osborn, Andrew Osborn, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Jane Ann Kivisto, brother William Maccani, infant sister, nephew "Billy" Maccani, and a very special "Aunt" Dora Alexander.

Visitation will take place at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Sunday, September 8, 2013, from 3-6pm with family present to welcome all friends, and a Rosary Service at 6pm. The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Monday September 9, 2013, at Saint Mary Catholic Church with the Reverend Father Stephen Naas officiating. Interment will follow at Saint Mary Cemetery with a luncheon for all friends at the Saint Mary Parish Hall.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to Saint Mary Catholic Church or to the Methodist-Kahler School of Nursing Alumni Scholarship Fund (Checks Payable to Mayo Clinic). Assistance with memorials is available at the Kempf Funeral Home. - See more at: http://kempffuneralhome.com/obituary?id=1241796#sthash.we45T2jp.dpuf
