Marvin Leroy Wiedeman, 86, died Aug. 1, 2014, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born July 20, 1928, in Russell, Kan., to Alexander and Rachel (Nuss) Wiedeman. He married Norma Jean Resner on Aug. 27, 1950, in Russell, Kan. She survives. Marvin was a manager of C.O. Mammel in LaCrosse, Kan., from 1955 until his retirement in 1980. After retirement he was a salesman for a news advertising agency.
Survivors include: his wife; sons, Steven Wiedeman and wife Lynn, Longview, Texas, and Curtis Wiedeman and wife Diane, Elgin, Ill.; daughters, Lesa Walters and husband John, Wichita, Kan., and Lora Befort and husband Warren, Burlington, Kan.; brother, Dean Wiedeman and wife Barbara, Hutchinson, Kan.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Hutchinson, with Pastor Tim Carey and Pastor Phil Vickers presiding. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium. Friends may sign the book Sunday through Tuesday, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice House, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
