MARTHA M. CUPP, 85, of Byron died Saturday April 16, 2011 in her home. She was born April 8, 1926 in Keota, Iowa the daughter of William C. & Berniece Bower Moser. She married Richard N. Cupp in Dixon, IL on May 29, 1947; he died in 1996. Martha was a 1944 graduate of Dixon High School and received her B. S. of Education from NIU. She was an elementary teacher in the Byron School District for many years, retiring in 1988. Martha enjoyed traveling, attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren's events, and was an avid fan of the Bears and Cubs. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Squire) Butt of Byron; sons, Richard N. (Jan) Cupp, II of Franklin Grove and Andrew Burton (Sherry) Cupp of Circleville, OH; grandchildren, Rebecca (Sean) Adams of Byron, Melissa Cupp Dihel and Maria Cupp, both of Chicago, Gavin Cupp of St. Louis & Chad Cupp of Circleville, OH; step grandson, Jordan White; step granddaughters, Debbie Anderson, Kelly Roberts, Jill Jackson, & Brooke White; and great granddaughters, Kelsey & Kourtney Adams of Byron; her beloved pets, Demi, Dilly& Dally; and her closest friend and travel partner, Marlene Roberts of Byron. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brother, William C. Moser, II. Special thanks to Ogle County Hospice and Martha's caregiver, Morena Engelking, for their compassionate care. Funeral services will be held Wed. April 20, 2011 at 11:00 AM in All Saints Lutheran Church, Byron. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5-8 PM in the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 506 W. Merchant St., Byron. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Dixon. In lieu of flowers, memorials to All Saints Lutheran Church or Ogle County Hospice.
