PLEVNA â?? James W. Fesler, 76, died July 4, 2014, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born September 28, 1937, in Hutchinson, the son of James "Warren" and Ruby (Rush) Fesler. Jim graduated from Plevna High School in 1956, and later from automotive vocational school in Kansas City. Jim farmed the family farm near Plevna and was a rural mail carrier for the Plevna and Abbyville areas. He was a member of the NRA, the Rural Letter Carriers Association and the National Farm Organization, which was involved in the Washington, D.C. agricultural movement. On September 30, 1961, he married Betty L. Fox at St. Teresa's Church in Hutchinson. He later married Judi (Lee) Miller on August 11, 2005, in Laughlin, Nevada. She died July 9, 2012.

Survivors include: a son, Ron Fesler and wife Chris of Livermore, California; a daughter, Deborah Fesler and husband Thad Kosse of Georgetown, Colorado; and ex-wife, Betty Fesler of Hutchinson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Judi, and two brothers, Charles and Melvin Fesler.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Matt Stafford presiding. Burial will be in Abbyville Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Reno County, or the American Heart Association, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson, Kansas 67501.
