James P. "Jim" Webb, 80, died July 10, 2014, at his home. He was born Feb. 22, 1934, to Richard J. and Vera Marie (Hook) Webb in Walnut, Kan.

Jim was a graduate of St. Teresa's High School and Emporia State University. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68, Knights of Columbus Council #612, and the Horseless Carriage Club. He served in the United States Air Force. Jim was the superintendent and principal at Pretty Prairie School and principal and teacher at Partridge and Little River.

On May 28, 1955, Jim married Eunice Mae Feuerborn at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wichita, Kan. She survives. Other survivors include: children, Paula Engstrom and husband Jon of Topeka, Janet Vulgamore and husband Greg of Cheney, Kevin Webb and wife Sue of Hutchinson, Brian Webb and wife Peggy of Hutchinson, James Webb Jr. and wife Brynn of Wichita; 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth Baier of Garden City, Joan Baudoin of Hutchinson; brothers, Richard Webb of Colorado Springs, Colo., and William Webb of South Hutchinson. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Thomas Lee Webb; sisters, Mary Louise Mailloux and Dorothy Wright.

Parish rosary will be 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2014, with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2014, all at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson, with Father Ned J. Blick presiding. The burial will follow in Penwell- Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Reno County, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church or Cancer Council of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501
