Stillman Valley - Loving Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather, James D. "JB" Bowman, Sr., age 79 died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007 at his home in Stillman Valley surrounded by his loving family. He was born Jan. 9, 1928 in Seward, IL. the son to Gilbert and Maude (Kelly) Bowman. JB served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1949-1951. He retired from Samuel Harris & Co. He lived in Seward, Byron, and the past 30 years in Stillman Valley. He was predeceased by his parents and 4 sisters. Survived by his 3 sons; James (Colleen Hawkinson) Bowman, Jr. of Caledonia, Il., David Bowman of Carrollton, Texas, and Barry (Tammy) Bowman of New Milford, Il., his former wife Betty (Alfred) Jones of Winnebago, 6 grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren, 2 nieces, and 2 nephews. The family will especially like to thank Doreen Hawkins, Toby Way, and Joanne Laning from the Hospice Care of America. A Memorial service will be 2:00 pm, Wed. Feb. 7, 2007 at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 136 W. Roosevelt Rd. Stillman Valley, Il. with the Rev. Chris Brauns pastor of the Congregational Christian Church of Stillman Valley officiating. Cremation rites accorded. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00pm on Wednesday. A memorial fund is established for the Hospice Care of America from Pecatonica and the Stillman Valley Fire Protection District
