Hannah Novak Hall

Death:Monday, February 1, 2016
Ogle Co, Illinois

Don't say 'she was surrounded by her loved ones', that is a given. And don't say 'she is now in heaven' because that is not a given, no one knows what happens, but I hope that is where I will be." One of the many lessons we learned from our mom.

Hannah Hall, age 78, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2016 at her home (and yes, her loved ones were there). She was born on September 14, 1937 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Henry and Mary Linton Novak. She lived life to the fullest and caused many gray hairs for her parents, until she met the love of her life, Delbert B. Hall. They were married on May 11, 1957 and the fun continued. They had a son, Chris Hall (of Stillman Valley, IL) and a daughter, Cathey (Greg) Stoddard (Byron, IL). She thought her life could not be any better until she became a grandma. She had four perfect (her words) grandchildren, Taylor Stoddard (Joey Macias), Chase Stoddard, Faith Stoddard and Macey Stoddard. After losing the love of her life in December, 1999, she spent her time helping her son with his business and torturing her daughter by teaching her grandchildren life lessons, such as her political views and how to torment their parents.

She is survived by her two children; four grandchildren; her brother, Linton Novak of Dwight, and her sister, Penny (Ramsey) Cook, of Chrisman; two step children: Diana (Al) Klapp, of Stillman Valley and Keith (Rose) Hall of Davis Junction; five step grandchildren: Carri Davis of Shepherdsville, KY, Dawn Varney of Stillman Valley, Brent (Jennifer) Hall of Winnebago, Shannon (Kory Lindquist) Hall of Stillman Valley, and Brock Hall of Arlington Heights. She is also survived by a special niece, LaVonne (David) James of Rochelle and two nephews: Tyler Cook and Pat Cook, both of Florida. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, a step son: Delbert "Butch" Hall and her beloved cat, Monica.

Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Johnson Lopez officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 - 7 P.M. at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St., Rochelle. Cremation rites will follow funeral mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary, Rockford, IL
