Fred Henry Zeeb, 83, of Coldwater, formerly of Marshall and Battle Creek, died on Sunday June 22, 2014 at the Community Health Center of Branch County in Coldwater.

Mr. Zeeb was born on June 6, 1931 in Sturgis to William and Anna (Wittel) Zeeb. He graduated from Sturgis High School in 1949. He also graduated from Valparaiso Tech in 1953 and from Purdue University with a bachelor's degree in 1961. Mr. Zeeb served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1953-1955. On June 6, 1971 he married Faye Titus in Las Vegas, Nevada. She preceded him in death on in 2010.

Mr. Zeeb was an Engineer for Post Cereal Company for 26 years, and he retired in 1989. He was a member of the Post 25 year club. He enjoyed golfing, reading, traveling to Florida with his wife, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his step children, Malinda (Al) Bolden Goshen, IN , Dennis Barnes of Cadillac, and Cynthia Cole; step grandchildren Becky (Nick) Seiler of Tekonsha, Jeremy Barnes, Jamie Thenen of Bronson, and Jeffery Cole; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Paul (Lou) Zeeb of Sturgis. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, William Zeeb; and a sister, Ruth Kenyon.

Visitation will take place at the Craig K. Kempf Family Funeral Homes, Marshall Chapel, 723 US 27 North, Marshall on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 from 5-7pm with family present to greet friends at that time. A graveside service celebrating his life will take place at 2:30pm on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens, 1490 East Michigan Ave, Battle Creek with Reverend James Codde officiating. Memorial contributions are requested to Calhoun County Relay for Life. Assistance with memorials is available at the Kempf Funeral Home.
