Ernie Edward Ross, 30, died on Friday, March 4, 2016 . Ernie was born on May 9, 1985 to Edward V. and Loretta A. (Mendez) Ross in Sterling, IL. He attended Rochelle Township High School. Ernie is survived by his parents, Edward and Loretta, of Rochelle, three brothers: Richard Caudillo of North Aurora, IL, Carlos (Nadia) Caudillo of Sterling, IL and Tim Mendez (Karley Nicholson) of Rochelle, three sisters: Mary Ross (Charles Brown) of Rochelle, Jessica Ross of Littleton, CO and Jacqueline Ross (Andrew Brougham) of Highlands Ranch, CO, grandmother Jo Ross of Leesburg, FL, grandmother Erlinda Silva of Rochelle, nine nieces and nephews: Baylynn, Carlos, Dustin, Isaac, Tori, Leticia, Marque, Johnny and Lucas, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Ernie was preceded in death by his grandfather Paul Ross, great grandmother Josephine Arce, great grandfather George Lloyd, and great grandmother Lily Lloyd. Ernie enjoyed watching a variety of sports. He was a Chicago Bulls and Chicago Bears fan. Ernie enjoyed cooking and creating new recipes. Ernie will always be remembered by his contagious smile; his smile was the light in every room. The visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the funeral home with Rev. James Tilly officiating. Burial will follow the service. Memorials may be made to the family.
