Doris Lucille Willbrandt, age 91, of Marshall died Monday, August 4, 2014 at Tendercare of Marshall.

Mrs. Willbrandt was born on June 29, 1923 in Burlington, Michigan to James and Viola (Stuck) Guilford. She was a homemaker.

She is preceded in death by a husband, Joseph E. Willbrandt in 1987.

Doris is remembered as loving mother and grandmother. She was always full of life and had a feisty spirit. Doris had a strong Christian faith and had attended many churches in the Marshall and Battle Creek areas. While living in the Marshall House, she volunteered her time at the Tendercare of Marshall Nursing Home. Doris loved to do word search puzzles, play bingo, sing old gospel hymns and read her Bible. She also enjoyed making silhouettes using old family photos.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda S. (Dallis) Miller of Murfreesboro, TN; sons, Joseph Willbrandt of Clare and John Willbrandt of Battle Creek; 3 grandchildren, Trey (Christy) Amsler, Amanda Amsler and Kristina Amsler ; siblings, Lorence Guilford of Florida, Ethel (John) Castello of Marshall, Shirley (Dick) Wood of Albion and George (Liz) Guilford of Charlotte, MI.

She was preceded in death by siblings, Gladys Clark, (infant) Barbara Guilford, Edward Guilford, (infant) Francis Guilford, Georgia Guilford, Helen Froh, Joan Neblo, Betty Mills and Donald Guilford.

The family will receive friends from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM Thursday at the Craig K. Kempf Family Funeral Homes, 723 Old US 27 North, Marshall. A funeral service to celebrate the gift of her life will be held 11 AM Friday, August 8, 2014 at the funeral home with Reverend James Codde officiating. Interment will follow in Beckley Cemetery, Battle Creek.
