OREGON - Delvin L. Bausman, 76, of Oregon and formerly of Lanark, died Saturday October 9, 2010 in the Serenity Home of Ogle County Hospice. Born April 8, 1934 in Stockton the son of Orville and Thelma (West) Bausman. Married to Donna Mae Smith August 12, 1955 in Mt. Carroll; she died July 13, 2002. He had been employed as a machinist at Woods Equipment Co. and self-employed for many years in appliance repair. He attended Mt. Carroll schools, was a Korean War era Navy veteran and a member of Mt. Morris American Legion. Delvin participated in Relay for Life, loved woodworking, fishing, camping, playing bead bag games, and splitting wood for building fires. He loved sports - the Bulls, Bears, Cubs and Illini and coached little league and girls softball for many years in Lanark. Delvin also loved giving his grandkids golf cart rides. Survived by: son, Dennis (Nancy Grahm) Bausman of Oregon; daughters, Debbie (Mike) Wiginton of Oregon, Laura (Donald) Giedd of Dixon, Jolene (Bruce) MacDougall of Durand and Brenda (Randy) Carr of Oregon; grandchildren: Dan (Dawn Buss) Mann, Randy Mann, Cheri (Al) Wickert, Christin Giedd, Jody (Greg) Zissler, Jacob Whitsell and Izzie; great grandchildren: Damon & Dylan Mann, Chase Heidenriech, Allisha & Alexis Zissler, Chloe Parker,and Jacob Wickert; brothers, Marvin (Margaret) Bausman of Thomson and Gerald (Annette) Bausman of Elizabeth; and sister-in-law, Darlene Bausman of Lanark. Also preceded by: his parents, brothers Carson and Kenny Bausman, niece Teresa Sassaman and son-in-law, Gary Hockman. Services will be held at 10:00am Saturday October 16 in Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon with Pastor Rich Fassig of Chana United Methodist Church officiating. Burial in Lanark Cemetery. Visitation Friday 6:00-8:00pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Serenity Home of Ogle County Hospice.
