Daniel A. Anthony, age 49, of Sturgis and formerly of Marshall died Wednesday, December 25, 2013 in Coldwater.

Mr. Anthony was born on March 16, 1964 in Battle Creek to James Henry and Martha Darlene (Lambert) Anthony. Dan grew up in the Battle Creek area and then lived in the Union City area for several years. He then moved to Marshall and was a graduate of Marshall High School. He had been employed as a custodian for the Marshall Public Schools.

Dan was a very artistic person. He enjoyed drawing and made many wonderful pencil and pen artworks. He also enjoyed working with wood and was an accomplished woodworker. He made and lovingly shared with his family many special creations, including coffee tables, shadow boxes, rocking horses and chairs, baby cradles and very detailed doll houses. Dan was also an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.

He is survived by children, Brianna (Jeff) Novak of Marshall, Ayslinn (Doug) Melton of Marshall, Branigan Anthony of Marshall, Ashton (Emily) Anthony of Portage, MI, Devanny Anthony of Ft. Wayne and Danielle Anthony of Marshall 7 grandchildren; mother, Martha Darlene Anthony of Sturgis; sisters, Christina Phillips and Tamara Weed; and brothers, John Setler and David Anthony.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 3 PM to 5 PM at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 5 PM Monday at the funeral home.
