OREGON- Dale F. Geyer, 89, longtime Oregon resident, died Tuesday March 6, 2012 in Oregon Living and Rehabilitation Center. Born March 17, 1922 in Ashton, the son of Frank and Anna (Hayenga) Geyer. Married to Iola Black May 4, 1950 in Rockford. Dale was a US Navy veteran serving in World War 2. He was self-employed as a contractor with his brother Duane for many years and also drove truck over 20 years for Graphic Arts Express. Dale was a member of Lighthouse United Methodist Church and Oregon VFW Post 8739. He loved to read. Survived by his wife of over 60 years, Iola Geyer of Oregon; brother-in-law, Charles Black of Oregon; and several nieces. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Duane Geyer and nephew Kevin Geyer. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday March 10 in Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon preceded by a visitation beginning at 1:00pm. Pastor Gregg Downs of Pinecreek Christian Church will officiate. Burial in Lighthouse Cemetery, rural Oregon. Memorials in Dale's name may be made to Lighthouse United Methodist Church or Serenity Hospice, Oregon.
