Carlen Sue Fincham, 57, of Homer passed away Friday, July 4, 2014 at Eaton Palliative Community Care.
Carlen was born on February 17, 1957 to Franklin and Josephine (Miller) Hoyt in Albion. She attended Homer schools and graduated with the Class of 1975. On May 29, 1982 Carlen married Robert "Bob" Fincham at the Girard Church.
Carlen worked at Hi-Lex in Litchfield for 12 years until an injury caused her to stop working. Previously she worked on the family farm as well as at the Midwest Foundry in Coldwater.
She enjoyed the outdoors and being in the sunshine. Carlen liked to go camping, kayaking, and fishing. She loved catching walleye and was known as the "Walleye Queen"! She also liked to visit the lighthouses during her travels on Lake Michigan. Most of all Carlen loved to be with her family and friends!
She is survived by her husband, Bob Fincham of Homer; mother, Josephine Hoyt of Homer; brother, Ben (Carol) Hoyt of Homer; sister, Debbie Betz of Homer; stepchildren, Wayne, Jody, and Roxanne Fincham all of Homer; nephew, Max Caldwell; nieces, Meagan Caldwell, Jacalyn and Logan Hoyt; and several aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; father, Franklin Hoyt; uncle, Charles Ray Miller; and her aunt, Kathelen Linton. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 from 12-2PM at the Craig K. Kempf Family Funeral Homes, Homer Chapel, 303 S. Hillsdale, Homer 49245. A funeral service will be held following the visitation at 2PM in the Homer Chapel with Rev. Earl Gear officiating.
