Bea was born on February 12, 1928 in Girard Township at home to Howard and Alta (Showers) Vincent. She attended Tekonsha schools then Marshall, where she graduated from Marshall High School in 1947.
She will be well remembered for her 30 years of service at Schuler's Restaurant in Marshall, where she was an exemplary server. She was often asked for by customers, including a group of executives from New York City who regularly did business at Marshall factories. After her retirement from there, Bea worked in the Deli at Felpausch Family Food Store in Marshall for 6 years, until January of 2008. Prior to Schuler's she had worked for a short time at Kellogg's in Battle Creek.
Rick was born on January 26, 1928 in Marshall to Howard A. and Faith E. (Ball) Moon. He was a graduate of Marshall High School in 1946. Rick served in the U.S. Navy from June 18, 1946 until June 3, 1950 when he was honorably discharged. He served on the USS Providence CL82.
Rick returned to Marshall and worked at Eaton Corporation for several years. He left there and drove truck for Stroh's Beer Company for 10 years. He then returned to service at Eaton Corporation, retiring as a Foreman in 1986.
Rick and Bea were married on October 20, 1962 in Marshall. From that time on they enjoyed and lived their lives doing most everything together. They loved their children and grandchildren, who were always their priority. Rick and Bea both were active in Alwyn Downs Golf leagues, and Marshall Lanes bowling leagues for the majority of their lives together. They were one of the founders of the "Cucumber Open Golf Outing" held at various courses over the years. Rick was a Lifetime Member of Marshall Moose Lodge #676, and Bea was a member of Women of The Moose of Lodge #676. They enjoyed many activities at the Moose Family Center over the years. Bea particularly enjoyed the "Pull Tab Lotteries" where she was unusually successful! Rick was a member of Stanley E. Lamb Post American Legion and the United Auto Workers. Bea liked to raise flowers every year at their home. They also enjoyed spending some winters in Winter Haven, Florida, where Bea had an aversion to a large alligator that enjoyed meeting her at their door when she wanted to leave!
Both Rick and Bea were Tiger fans of the utmost allegiance, in both good seasons and bad! Rick was often seen wearing his Detroit Tiger's cap. Bea was known amongst the family as a bit of a better fan than even Rick! She could give you player's names and their averages from over many years!
