Harold S. Wright, 92, of Granite City, died at 7:45 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2008, in Wood River.
He was born May 2, 1915, in Corning, Ark. Mr. Wright was a member of the Third Street Baptist Church; retired from Granite City Steel after 30 years of service; and was a U.S. Army Air Corps World War II veteran.He married the former Opal Groves on Feb. 4, 1945. She survives after 63 years of marriage.
Other survivors include two sons, Gary (Lora) Wright of Wood River and Randy (Coleen) Wright of Granite City; one daughter, Phyllis (Allen) Wright of Victorville, Calif.; two brothers, Milburn Wright of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo. and Don Wright of Florida; two sisters, Loretta McGee of Bradenton, Fla. and Florence Wright of Michigan; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Martin Wright; his parents, Ollie and Dollie (Walker) Wright; five brothers; and two sisters.

Opal M. (Grove) Wright, 87, of Brighton, formerly of Granite City, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, in Brighton.
Opal was born Feb. 11, 1922, in Datto, Ark.
She was a homemaker and member of 3rd Baptist Church in Granite City.
She is survived by her sons, Gary (Lora) Wright of Wood River, Randy (Coleen) Wright of Granite City; daughter, Phyllis (Allen) Wright of Victorville, Calif.; brothers, Orville Grove of Boydsville, Ark., and Cecil Grove of Kingman, Ariz.; sisters, Ruby Dale of Pigott, Ark., Lucy Ellis of Rector, Ark., and Marie Reed of Corning, Ark.; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Laura (Sutton) Grove; her husband, Harold S. Wright; son, Martin Wright; brother, Bud Grove; and sister, Mildred Davis.
