  • Newspaper, 17 JUN 1908: "'EAVENSON ENGISH WEDDING' A very pretty wedding will be solemnized tonight at 7:30 o'clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph R. [& Sarah McGlathery] English of Narberth, Pa, when their daughter Anna [Anna M English] will become the bride of George Dyson Eavenson.

    The house will be artistically decorated with palms and cut flowers and the bridal party will stand under an arch of palms. The Rev. I. Newton Stanger of the Church of the Atonement will perform the ceremony.

    The bride, who will be given in marriage by her father, will wear a gown of white satin trimmed with tulle and lace, a tulle veil. She will carry bride roses and lilies of the valley, and her only ornament will be a pearl and diamond broach, the gift of the bridegroom.

    Miss English will be attended by her sister, Mrs. Walter M. [Mary R. English] Howell, of Morrisville, Pa., as matron of honor; and her cousin, Miss Nellie H. Mull of Sharon Hill will be maid of honor.

  • Newspaper, 09 MAR 1917: "'Disinherits Her Husband' Mrs. Sarah H. Houghton, wife of Dr. Charles W. Houghton, in her will probated in Norristown has disinherited her husband because 'he is amply provided for and does not need any financial assistance." Under the terms of her will Thomas McGlathery, a brother, is made executor of the will, while her two daughters, Millie Howell and Anna [Anna M English] Evenson, are to share equally her entire estate."
