Store where on 10-3-1903, he was coming up the basement stairs the moment the St. Charles
cyclone leveled the building (he wasn't injured); 1905 moved to Portland, Multnomah County,
OR., where he later owned a grocery store; "with his honest dealing, open-heartedness and
genial manners, he [was] one of the most respected and honored gentlemen of his town;" md.

Jesse William Talbot was a junior partner in St. Charles Furniture Store in St. Charles, Minnesota. On October 3, 1903, he was coming up the basement stairs the moment the St. Charles cyclone leveled the building. Fortunately, he wasn't injured. In 1905 Jesse and his wife, Carrie, moved to Portland, Oregon, where he later owned a grocery store. He married Caroline F. Krause in Winona County, Minnesota, on November 26, 1902.

“Carrie” was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gustave Krause. She married Jesse William Talbot in Winona County, Minnesota, on November 26, 1902.

Carrie F. Talbot

Death Friday claimed Mrs. Carrie F. Talbot, 71, of 1414 S. E. Holgate boulevard, who succumbed following an extended illness. The wife of Jessie [sic] W. Talbot and a Portland resident since 1905, she was the daughter of the late Gustav A. Krause, Portland, who died April 1, just 26 days short of 100 years of age.

Born May 25, 1871, in Dover, Minn., she was married to Mr. Talbot in 1902 at St. Charles, Minn.

Other surviving relatives include one daughter, Mrs. Harold W. Bergler, Milwaukie; three brothers, Ellon F. and Ben M., Portland, and Norbert B., Walla Walla, Wash.; one sister, Mrs. Ethyl E. Keyes, Portland, and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 26, at 11 A. M., in the Davy Sunnyside funeral home, S. E. 35th avenue and Belmont street.
