Mr. Baldwin remained with the Society 23 years, 3 months and 3 days. During this period, 107 persons united with the Church, and 632 were baptized. As a pastor, his services gave general satisfaction, and as a preacher, his talents were not only highly respectable, but his manuscripts show that he was a ready and eloquent writer, and his discourses display good judgment, keen perceptions, and strong common sense.
Mr. Baldwin was led to espouse the cause of America in the struggle with Great Britain, and throughout the war took a deep interest in his country's success.
