Newspaper, 22 MAR 1922: "Mrs. R. M. McGlathery and baby who have been at the Benevolent hospital, returned to their home on Jackson street Saturday." __
Obituary, 8 NOV 1946: "'YOUTH PASSES AT JEFFERSON' Roy Munsey McGlathery Jr., aged 24, died Friday morning at seven o'clock at Jefferson county hospital following an operation. Young McGlathery had been ill for the past five years, having been stricken while a student at the University of Alabama.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at three o'clock at Central Methodist church, the cortege leaving the residence on Sherman Street at 2:45. Internment will be mate at Hartselle city cemetery Brown directing. Other details were awaiting the return [of the] family from Birmingham [were] they had been at the youth's bedside. Dr. and Mrs. McGlathery, the parents Rev. Wayland McGlathery, Davenport, Iowa, a brother and Miss. Kathleen McGlathery, a sister, were [there] at the bedside.
Young McGlathery, prior to his [death he was?] among the best and [well?] known boys of De[catur. His?] principal interests were [in his] church, Central Methodist, and in Boy Scout activities." --"Decatur Daily," 8 NOV 1946, FRI p. 1.
