  • Obituary, 09 MAR 1906: "Mrs. Frances Lloyd Parsons, wife of Thomas Clayton Parsons, the well known East Side real estate and loan investment agent, at 8:45 yesterday morning, at her home, 1312 Eighth Avenue. Pneumonia followed by another complication covering a period of more than 6 weeks was the cause of her death. She was daughter of Allen and Martha McGlathery deceased, of Altoona and was born in West Virginia in 1854. Had she lived until the 18th of this month she would have been 52 years of age. She was married on December 24, 1878. In her death, Altoona lost one of its most beloved woman and the First Presbyterian church one of its most devoted members. For twelve years prior to her marriage [,] she was organist tin [sic.] the church and for many years played organ at prayer meetings. She was organist of the primary school for upwards of twenty years. She was a prominent member of the Women's Missionary society. She is survived by her husband and a son, Thomas Chester Parsons, and the following brothers [sic.] Samuel T. McGlathery, Romney, W. Va., Mrs. Sarah H. Black, and Mrs. Annie H. Hamilton, Greenwood. Funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Friends, please omit flowers."
