Donald F. Dearstine, 77
DUNCAN FALLS - Donald F. Dearstine, 77, of Irish Ridge Road, Philo, passed away at 7:50 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at Genesis Extended Care and Rehab Center in Zanesville.
Donald was born Jan. 2, 1931, in Philo, the son of the late Roy and Mary Smith Dearstine. He retired in 1985 from Ohio Bell Telephone Company. He also worked for the Ohio Power Company for 10 years, and was a milk truck driver for the Borden Dairy Company. Don was a member of Anchor Lodge # 283 F&AM and attended the Philo United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Thomas Dearstine, whom he married Oct. 15, 1950, a marriage of 57 years; one son, Walter Dearstine of McConnelsville; two daughters, Carolyn Sue and Randy Derry of Zanesville, and Debra Ann and John Hellems of Philo; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; and a great, great grandson due in May.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin sister, Dorothy Fouts Wells.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 3, 2008, at the Thompson-Farus Funeral Home, Duncan Falls.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at the funeral home with the Rev. Alice Baldwin officiating. Burial will follow in Duncan Falls Cemetery.
