Born January 25, 1932 in Frazeysburg he was the son of the late James Elmus and Lucille Elizabeth (Bennett) Moore and was a 1950 graduate of Frazeysburg High School. Mr. Moore was a farmer and a steel worker. He retired in 1992 from Universal Cyclops of Coshocton. Don was a member of the Frazeysburg Presbyterian Church and Frazeysburg Lodge #490, F. & A. M. He enjoyed the outdoors, both hunting and fishing, but mostly farming his land. His greatest enjoyment was his family.
Surviving is his loving wife of 61 years, Kathleen M. (King) Moore whom he married August 6, 1955; two sons, Scott (Pam) Moore of Dresden and Douglas (Robin) Moore of Zanesville; four daughters, Lisa Moore of Zanesville, Karen (Victor) Velazquez of Dresden, Marlene Wood of Huntington, West Virginia and Annette (Jeff) Fisher of Granville, Ohio; fourteen grandchildren, Casey Daugherty, Sarah Moore, Heather Barr, Kathleen Phillips, Michelle Velazquez, Josh Velazquez, Shalane Moore, Sierra Lewellen, Slade Moore, Cody Wood, Tyler Wood, Amber Wood, Allyson Fisher and Audrey Fisher; five step-grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also surviving is Barb Jennings of Dresden; a special cousin, Fred Bennett of Frazeysburg and a special neighbor, Gail Arnold, along with several other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
There will be no calling hours.
Private family funeral services will be held with Mr. David McCann officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
