Samuel Hurd Johnson wife was 20 years older than him. They never had children. There is an Elizabeth Porter born in Virginia about 1709. She is supposed to be married to a Samuel Johnson from Yadkin River area of North Carolina. I still have not found him. The Elizabeth born in Virginia had at least two children a William and Thomas Johnson. Porter and Johnson are two very common names.
It is easy to confuse them.
