Dr. F. Z. Goss, Sr. was a well known physician in his community of Caesar, Mississippi. He traveled throughout Stone, Hancock, and Pearl River Counties seeing to the medical needs of the people. He delivered countless children.
He traveled by horse and buggy and many a long night he would fall asleep in the buggy and the horse would take him home by himself. When modern Model T's came on the scene he could no longer have that luxury but he would get home a little faster than before.
During the depression era and times before welfare he was often paid with "goods" because there just wasn't any money. He never went hungry and often times gave away much that he had received. He enjoyed foxhunting and "trading" dogs when a good hound became available.
