    On Thursday at the family home corner of Ash and New York Avenue,
    W. C. McGlathery died after a prolonged ailment.

    Mr. McGlathery was 68 years of.age, was one of our oldest citizens. He moved here from Corinth. Miss., his old home upon coming out of the Confederate army. His record as a soldier was exemplary and his old exConfederate veterans will learn of his death with great sadness and regret.

    The funeral is being held at the Methodist church this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. T. J. Brickell officiating and the Interment will follow at Oak Lawn Cbmetery [sic.]

    Mr. McGlathery is survived by his wife, two daughters, Misses Eva and Willie, and one son, Mr. Don. L. McGlathery of Cotton Plant."
