Solomon Deyo was part of the New Paltz Normal School Board of Trustees that helped oversee the transition of the normal school into a New York Teachers College, now known as the State University of New York at New Paltz. He was instrumental in the naming of the buildings on campus as well, with one of them being referred to as Deyo Hall until fall 2019.
