Robert T. Freer, 74, of Stone Ridge, died suddenly at his home early this morning. He was born in Rosendale, a son of the late Myron and Mary Terwilliger Freer. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as orchard manager for Van Winkle Orchards of Stone Ridge. He and Mrs. Freer celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary April 29, 1965. Surviving are his wife, the former Jennie Parks (sic), a daughter, Mrs. Harry Bush of Stone Ridge; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the George J. Moylan Funeral Home, Main Street, Rosendale, Wednesday, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Robert Clementz, pastor of Marbletown Reformed Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Hurley Cemetery. Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Celebrate 50th Wedding Anniversary Today
A Stone Ridge couple are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today. They are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Freer. A party in their honor will be given today by their daughter, Mrs. Harry Bush, also of Stone Ridge. 
Mrs. Freer is the former Jane Parkes of Kingston. Her parents were the late Charles Parkes and Isabelle Bodley Parkes. Mr. Freer is the son of the late Myron Freer and Mary Terwilliger Freer.
The couple took their marriage vows in St. John's Episcopal Church which was located at that time on Wall Street. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. Charles S. Kennedy, now deceased. 
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Freer was employed for 35 years by the Van Winkle Orchards in Stone Ridge. 
Mr. and Mrs. Freer have three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
