Susan moved with her parents to Dade County, Missouri in 1867, after the Civil War that destroyed their farm and property in Benton County, Arkansas.
She married Thomas "Tom" Archibald Maze October 24, 1875 in Dade County. Tom is a son of John Joseph and Susan Hailey Maze.
The mother of eight children, Susan died a month after the birth of Mount Ella "Ed" Maze
