He was sanitation officer for the Louisiana Department of Health, serving in St. Joseph, Monroe, and Winnfield; a representative for many years of Paul Revere Insurance Company; and business manager and subsequent owner of Roberts Flower Shop. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and a past member of the Winnfield Lions Club.

He was survived by one son, Percy W. Roberts, Jr., of Winnfield; three daughters, Mrs. Irma Chandler and Mrs. Bobbie Nell Carter, both of Winnfield, and Mrs. Mildred (Mitzi) Griggs of Port Neches, TX; one brother, Henry Roberts of Pineville; two sisters, Mrs. Addie Doughty and Mrs. Bobbie Bullock of Jena; 7 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
