My husband's great grandfather x4 was Col.John Dudley Davis who resided at the plantation in Amherst Virginia. We have his free masons apron and other artifacts that substantiate the lineage. my question does anyone that put together the lineage going back from Col. Davis have ant "source" documents that prove the other connections. I would like to get copies of all digitized documents: birth records, wills, etc. to validate the tree for my husband and his children. The last house on the Haywood plantation in Amherst Virginia was destroyed in a fire in 1950. I'm assuming the remaining documents were destroyed that were in the house.
Thanks for any help.
