Aged: 44.2 years

There is a Joseph Jepherson in the 1810 & 1820 census of Rochester, VT, but the numbers do not match for him to be the father of Ichabod. This Joseph Jepherson is too young to be the father of Ichabod (would more likely be his brother).

There seems to be a generation missing--MISSING GENERATION FOUND!.

Isaac Esty (b. 1662) who married Abigail Kimball had a daughter Hannah Esty (b. 1702). She married (1720/21) Isaac Cummings (b. 1695) and they had a daughter, Mehitabel Cummings. Mehitabel married Joseph Jepherson in 1749 and they then had a son, Ichabod (b.1760/65) which fills in the missing generation.

I beilieve that Willard Espy (my main source for Esty & Espy genealogy) left out a generation in his book. I have found a possible solution in my second source.

The Isaac Cummings Family Association has her son listed as Ichabod Jepherson b. 1760. Their site is:

The marriage is listed at www.familysearch.org

A generation WAS left out of Willad Espy's book. But the generation is in his genealogy notes (sent to me by his niece, Sydney Stevens) for the book.
