Aged: 79.1 years
1898/1908, Salvation Army officer (Captain) for about 10 years

Frank joined The Salvation Army and became a member of a group called the Charioteers. These were evangelists who traveled from place to place with their musical instruments bringing the Gospel to anyone who would listen. One listener was Frank's future wife, Maude May Darrow. He invited her and her family to a Salvation Army meeting. They came and joined The Salvation Army. Frank worked for the U.S. Post Office for forty years, at least some of them spent riding the rails, sorting mail as the mail train went from one town to another.

Later, when he worked for the U.S. Postal Service, his job was to sort mail while on a train.

I have a little aside to this: His granddaughter, Eva World (who lived in Sacramento), was being courted by her future husband, George C. Sholin (whose home was in San Francisco), for several years during the early 1940s.  They created quite a large collection of love letters during this time.  One of the letters caught my eye. There was an envelope stamped by Frank Page with his name.. During his sorting duties Frank had come upon a letter from one of them to the other, so he stamped it so the recipient would know through whose hands the message had passed. Eva commented on it in a follow-up letter. It must have been fun to receive that letter.

NOTE: This is NOT the Frank Edward Page of Modoc County, born 20 Feb 1880. that one went to prison for murder, and died 21 Sep 1939.
