Polly Lake, a younger daughter of James Lake Sr., also became distinguished as a good woman. She was married to Daniel Glascock. To these were born Baylls, who died young; Lucinda, Eliza, Margaret, James, Thomas, Elias, and French.
The family moved from Virginia in the fall of 1833, to near Fancy creek, Sangamon county, Illinois. Here they lived until the parents died, while some of the children were yet quite young, and needed to be cared for by friends of the family.
