NEWARK: A funeral service for Russell F. Abele will be held at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st Street 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2011 with Pastor Tom Myers presiding. Interment will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends and relatives 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Abele, age 80 passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 18, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois to his late parents Frank J. and Emma L. (Stoneburner) Abele. Russell retired from Rockwell International in 1987 after 30 years of service. He was a member of United Commercial Travelers Council #274 and Hebron Lions Club. He bowled for Rockwell and a business league for many years. He also enjoyed square dancing, woodworking, jig saw puzzles, playing cards, Reds baseball and most importantly spending time with family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and will be missed by all.

Russell is survived by his wife, Martha (Minner) Abele; son, Thomas (Sharon) Abele of St. Louisville; daughters, Bonnie (Bruce) Parks of Hebron, Marilyn (Myron) Stammen of New Weston, OH and Diana (Michael) Wheatley of Newark; four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; brother, Richard (Jean) Abele; as well as many friends.

In addition to his parents; grandson, Doug Sparks; sister, Evelyn Milner and brother-in-law Eugene Milner preceded Russell in death.
