Order of the Garter
Spencer held the office of Member of Parliament for Brackley from 1597 to 1598. He was the Commissioner for Musters for Northamptonshire in 1600 and Sheriff of Northamptonshire from 1601 to 1602. He was invested as a Knight, Order of the Garter in 1601. Sir Robert was created 1st Baron Spencer of Wormleighton [England] on 21 July 1603. Son of Sir John Spencer (b. 1519) and Mary, daughter of Sir Robert Catlyn.
