Katie's maiden names was the same as her husband's surname.

Some doubts were cast about the middle name of this Kathryn Diedie Seibel. Apparently there was another person by that name. It was Kathryn's granddaughter, June Herman Barker, who gave me that name. I thought the name unusual at the time, not realizing that there were among these Seibels some relatives bearing the surname, Diedie. To me it sounded like "DeeDee," so I questioned June about it. She was adamant that Diedie was her middle name. So given that this name came from her, a woman who had never tried to do genealogy, I accept her word, even though I have not found any written records to date of any middle name for her.
