He was born Jan. 22, 1905, at West Line, Mo., the son of Charles E. and Anna L. Papst Ziegler. He was united in marriage to Elsie Gladys McCoy on Sept. 11. 1927, at Cleveland, Mo. He has lived in the Louisburg area since 1929.
Mr. Ziegler was an electricial repairman. He was a member of the First Christian Church, West Line, and the Lions Club in Louisburg. He served on the City Council and was mayor of Louisburg from 1952-1954.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one brother.
Survivors include; two daughters, Shirley Courtney, Kansas City, Mo., and Patricia Daetwiler, Aurora, Colo.; one son, Charles Larry Ziegler, Lawrence; two sister, Dortha Johnson and Viola Noyes, Louisburg; eight gandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 8, at the Runyan Chapel, Louisburg, with Dr. Richard D. Daetwiler officiating. Eldon Kohlenberg will sing "How Great Thou Art" and "In the Garden," accompanied by Mary Schaumburg. Casketbearers will be Earl Woods, Dean Kohlenberg, Vernon White, John Coltrin, Joe McGuirk and Lonard Shea. Burial will be in the Louisburg Cemetery.
