John H. Williams of 50 Rock street died Wednesday at his home following a long illness. He was formerly employed by the city and was retired three years ago. Mr. Williams was a member of Trinity Methodist Church. His wife, Cornelia Gay Williams, died four years ago. Surviving are five daughters, Miss Mary Williams, Mrs. Frank Bunce, Mrs. Pearl McCardle, Mrs. Chester Beesmer and Mrs. Burton Beesmer; seven sons, John, James, Raymond, Floyd, Frank, George, and Edwin; two sisters, Mrs. Harry Brodhead and Mrs. Chester Van Demark; three brothers, Samuel, James, and Richard Williams; 15 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from the Henry J. Bruck Funeral Home, 27 Smith avenue, Staurday, at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in the family plot in Montrepose Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home any time.

The 1900 US Census states that his parent's estimated marriage year was 1874, while most census records list John's birth year as 1873, so it's likely that the estimation of the marriage year was off by a year or two.
