Although the tombstone inscriptions on US GenWeb for Van Norman Cemetery indicate that John Cain Wilkinson was the son of Micajah Wilkinson and his wife Mary Kennedy, that identification cannot be correct since Micajah Wilkinson had died long before John Cain Wilkinson was born. Instead, Micajah Wilkerson and wife Mary Kennedy were the grandparents of John Cain Wilkinson, who was the son of the Rev. Rowland Wilkinson and wife Margaret Cain.
