Reed Freer, of Esopus, died early this morning following a lengthy illness. He was the son of the late John and Charlotte Griffis Freer. Surviving, besides his wife, are four sons, John Reed, Harry J., James T., and George H. Freer, all of Esopus; two daughters, Mrs. Gerard Kelder, Kingston; Miss Marie Freer, at home; a sister, Mrs. Lacie Simmons, California; a brother, John G. Freer, Poughkeepsie; a niece and five grandchildren. The funeral will be held from the late home Thursday at 9 a.m., thence to the Church of the Sacred Heart in Esopus where at 9:30 a.m. a high Mass of requiem will be offered for the repose of his soul. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kingston.

Mrs. Jennie Freer, widow of Reed Freer, died Monday. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Gerard (Isabel) Kelder and Mrs. Doyle (Marie) Barger; two sons, James and George Freer, both of Esopus; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held from the Gilpatric-Murphy Funeral Home, 176 Broadway, Thursday, 9:30 a.m., thence to the Sacred Heart Church, Esopus, where a Mass will be held at 10 a.m,. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
