Rev. Jefferson Waite Duffey and Nannie Troutwine (Hyler) Duffey, both likewise natives of Virginia, though the former was born at Moorefield, present judicial center of Hardy County, West Virginia, his father, John Duffey, of Irish lineage, having come to Virginia from Frederick County, Maryland, and having become a pioneer in what is now West Virginia. Rev. Jefferson Waite Duffey gave many years of able and consecrated service as a clergyman of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, and he is now living retired in the City of Washington, D. C. he being eighty-one years of age at the time of this writing, in 1928, and his wife being eighty years of age.
