  • Other, : One thing I should mention is that I noticed George Oliver Conrad
somewhere in your Ancestry World Tree. George Oliver Conrad married
Diana Smith Yancey, sister of my great-great-grandfather William
Benjamin Yancey. I knew George & Diana's granddaughter, Jessie Diana
Conrad (who married Howard Kemper Gibbons) fairly well. The first place
I remember living was Harrisonburg, though I was born in Pennsylvania.
Cousin Jessie lived up the hill, either on, or just off of, Ott Street.
We lived on Campbell Street, and my grandmother lived a block away on
Franklin Street. After we moved away, we would still go back to
Harrisonburg to visit Grandma several times a year. A visit to Cousin
Jessie was always in order. I remember her back yard, particularly the
bird bath which I used to watch quite a lot. Of course, I didn't
realize until after Cousin Jessie died that she was a Yancey descendant
(my great-grandmother was a Gibbons, so I assumed that the Gibbons line
was our connection to her....I was a bit naive back then).

As for your information on Conrad, you mentioned a will in Lancaster
County, PA. I have done some research on my Moses line in Chester
County, PA, and therefore have a CD of Pennsylvania Will Abstracts. Do
you know the exact name and year? If so, maybe an abstract is on this
CD (I think it includes Lancaster County as well).
