  • Obituary, 13 MAY 1879: "The Winchester "Times of the 7th inst., contains the following notice of the death of an estimable lady: 'Mrs. Woodworth, Woodworth, daughter of our townsman, Wm. H. Streit, and wife of the Rev. M. W. Woodworth, of the Presbyterian church of Burlington, W. Va., died at her father's residence in this city, on Friday last. Mrs. W's disease was pneumonia and it was so rapid in its course as to baffle the skill of her medical attendant terminating fatally in a single week. She was about 44 years of age, and leaves six young children, besides her husband and other relatives, to mourn her loss.'"

  • Obituary, JUL 1939: "'Necrology'...
    William Streit Woodworth, 1887, was born in Winchester, Va., December 17, 1865, and died in Fort Meyer, Fla., March 30, 1939. He was a civil engineer, but had retired after many years of active service in various important positions. He was the son of the late Rev. M. W. Woodworth and brother of our distinguished friend, R. B. Woodworth D. Sc."
